INSTEAD OF SCENERY: FIVE COOL STAGE DECISIONS IN LAS VEGAS, TOKYO, PARIS AND DUBAI
We are used to having tons of different decorations for a great event. Is it possible to make a spectacular event without them? Light, sound, video, farms - what if to use only these means? Oleg Nikituk, project manager at MAX \ MAX productions, told Event LIVE how it works with foreign colleagues.
The assets of MAX \ MAX productions include working with the Oriflame diamond conference in Tokyo, with the World Winter Universiade in Almaty, Sap and amoCRM conferences in Moscow, and many other large, interesting projects. But when we started to enter the market with a new service, with our own rental equipment, we remembered successful, vibrant and interesting projects in the foreign market. Here are the events that inspire us. Enjoy it!
1. Circuit Grounds Stage At EDC Las Vegas 2018
One of the main scenes of the legendary Electric Daisy Carnival - Circuit Grounds was one hundred percent made of rental equipment. It would seem that this is surprising, but if you compare with the equally famous Ultra Music Festival, then the difference is obvious. The UMF scene looks spectacular, but cumbersome - while the production of the EDC festival was attentive to the elaboration of each meter. Due to the screens located at different depths, the correct selection of structural elements, thoughtful work with content, the scene made a sense of a holistic art object.
2. Dior Homme Paris Fall / Winter’17
The task of this collection of Dior men's clothing is to re-instill in the young generation the classic style of the 30-40s. Young people of that time, especially in America, chose “rebellion” as a way of thinking and acting, and this theme of audacity was also reflected in the design of the podium. The combination of clear forms without unnecessary details and a heap of small decor in a bright, juicy, constantly changing light fill helped to emphasize the designer's intention, without distracting attention.
3. LANVIN PARIS FASHION SHOW
“Cleanliness and accuracy” is the main theme of the Raf Simmons collection for the Lanvin fashion house. It was decided to try to “reload” the classic theme in the field of haute couture, which required a “clean” space devoid of details, against which the new collection, despite the emphasized conservatism in the elements, looked contrasting and even slightly futuristic.
4. TeamLab Jungle exhibition - light sculpture Light Cave
The place of attraction for the teamLab Jungle exhibition in Tokyo was the light sculpture Light Cave. According to the artists' intention, this sculpture due to the smooth movement of the rays gives the audience the opportunity to feel the space - the way it moves and exists. “The natural space and the created space - both are made of light. This sculpture continues the space, but does not create it, ”is the intention of this installation in the words of one of the creators.
5. Private Celebration - The Moon Theme by Olivier Dolz, Dubai
A vivid example of working with space in such a “capricious” segment of events as a wedding celebration. Minimalist decor, especially for this format of events, in the form of white fabric around the perimeter and projectors, allows you to constantly change the space around the guests, depending on the director's move or the specific moment of the event.
